All is now set for the construction of an ultra mordern Building Project by the Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. The multimillion naira project is estimated to gulp about N100 million.
The proposed project state-of-the-art multi-purpose complex is expected to house Ultramodern facilities with over 60 offices including digital carwash station, to enhance quality service devery within the university community.
The Vice-Chancellor UNIZIK Prof. Charles Esimone is expected to perform the groundbreaking during the foundation stone laying ceremony billed for 30th July, 2021, at the site of the School of Management Sciences.
This was made known by the Deputy Director, School of Business UNIZIK, Dr Chinedu Onyeizugbe who doubles as the Chairman of the Building Committee, during an interaction with Newsmen in Awka, Monday 26th July.
The Building Committee Chairman Dr Onyeizugbe emphasized that the facility when completed would among other things resolve office accommodation challenges being encountered by the faculty while providing enabling environment for academic excellence.
In his words, Dr Onyeizugbe said “We have many lecturers in the faculty but limited offices, so it is expected that the proposed project will provide enabling environment and well equipped offices for the staff of the faculty, it is expected that the building will be second to none within the University environment. The Building Committee Chair further stressed that the project is made possible through efforts of the alumni of the faculty, stating that the committee was set up by the Alumni for the project during which funds were raised in a ceremony which was Chaired by Chief Allen Onyema the CEO of Air Peace.
In his reaction, the Administrative Officer of the Faculty, Mr Nnamdi Ozondu, also the Secretary of the Building Committee said, the emergence of Prof Orogbu as the Dean of the Faculty has presented opportunities to showcase the best of the Faculty, stating that the digital carwash station will be first of its kind in the history of the versity community.
Mr Ozondu eulogized the administrative qualities of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Esimone for his good works in the high institution of learning.
