A fatal traffic crash has reportedly occurred, 18th Nov, 2021, around Amansea by Hausa market, along Awka-Enugu expressway.

According to reports, the crash involving two vehicles driving by unidentified drivers of a green commercial Toyota Hiace bus with registration number, FGG88YG and a red Mercedes truck, with registration number

The cause of the crash was attributed to bad road. An eyewitness disclosed that, the truck carrying a container was heading to Enugu while the bus driver was going to Awka. According to the witness, the truck could not maintain stability when it arrived at Amansea junction leading to the fall of the container on the Toyota Hiase bus.

Seven person's including 6 male and 1 female commuters were involved in the crash, while 5 of the male occupants of the Hiase bus sustained varying degrees of injury, the female occupant could not make it as she reportedly lose her life in the crash; however, one person came out unhurt.

The acting Sector Public Education Officer of the FRSC Anambra Command, DRC Margaret Onabe who confirmed the incident stated that the deceased has been deposited at a nearby mortuary in Awka after being confirmed dead by a Doctor.

Margaret Onabe further disclosed that the State Sector Commander FRSC, Corps Commander, Adeoye Irelewuyi deeply Commiserates with the deceased family, while wishing the injured victims quick recovery.

According to her, the Sector Commander appealed to the motoring public that, the road audit of the area, around the Amansea road, has been carried out and forwarded to appropriate quarters for adequate action; urging the general public to endeavor to always observe traffic rules and regulations for their own safety ■ END
