Apart from its primary functions of ensuring the safety of motorists and other road users on our highways, the FRSC Anambra State Command few days ago embarked on fixing of critical failed spots within strategic areas of Awka metropolis and environs, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities, CSR.

The acting Public Education Officer of the Sector, DRC Margaret Onabe, who made the disclosure in a Press Statement made available to newsmen, stated that, as part of the contributions of the FRSC Anambra State Command towards Free Flow of Traffic during the Yelutide and in an effort to Free the roads in the State of Traffic Crashes for the safety of motorists and other road users, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, through his personal initiatives and goodwill of his office, facilitated the provision of laterite sand, for immediate refilling of potholes as part of palliative measures for smooth movements in strategic areas around Awka, the State Capital.

The exercise which according to the Press Release was supervised by the Head of Operations of the Command, DCC Okora Awassam, was said to have attracted the attention of the members of the public, Traffic managers as well as other sister agencies, who showered encommeum on the Sector Commander for his goodwill and proactiveness in ensuring sanity on the roads during the season.

The Release further stated that the Anambra State FRSC Boss, CC Irelewuyi, used the opportunity to re-echo his appeal to members of the motoring public to ensure that they always obey rules and regulations on the highways so as to be alive, safe and healthy to be able enjoy the festive season ■END
