A tragic Road accident has occurred, today 7th December, 2021 at about 7am, in an area known as Slaughter, around Ogbunike hill by Onitsha - Enugu express way.

The incident which involves two vehicles, a red Howo Tipper Truck with no visible registration number and an ash coloured Toyota Corolla Car with registration number, HTE 365 CU could best be described as a devastating disaster.

The cause of the accident according to sources was due to excessive speed and obstruction. 

According an eye witness report, the Tipper truck developed a mechanical fault, stopped without proper parking on the road while the Toyota Corolla on a top speed crashed into the motionless Tipper from the rear, squeezing the Car into rumples.

Four male adults were involved in the crash. Two persons were confirmed dead as at the time of filling this report, while the other two escaped unhurt.

Confirming the incident, the acting Public Education Officer of the Sector, DRC Margaret Onabe said the Sector Commander, FRSC Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, comiserates with the families of the deceased victims, stating that the Sector commander appeals to motoring public to ensure that their vehicles are always in good condition before embarking on any journey, urging motorists to maintain safe speed limits while plying the highway■ END
