Nigerian School On Internet Governance, NSIG, Holds Convention in PH

As part of its efforts to build additional qualitative Internet Governance capacity within the Nigerian space, the Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter, has convened its 5th Edition of Nigerian School on Internet Governance, NSIG, in Portharcourt, Rivers State capital.


The 3day event which took-off Tuesday 8th October, is holding at the Centre for Information and Telecommunications Engineering, University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt, till the 10th of October.

According to the organisers, the School on Internet Governance have helped many notable countries groom some of their citizens to rise to key positions that have greatly influenced the global Internet ecosystem.

The 2024 meet by the Nigerian Internet Governance Forum (NIGF) is aimed among other things, to give participants practical experience of participation at a national Internet Governance Forum. 

The ongoing event is expected to train and develop next generation of leading Nigerians from diverse sectors, backgrounds and ages with the skills to participate in local and international internet governance structures so as to help in shaping the future of the internet landscape for Nigeria.
