River State Set to Host 2024 Nigerian Internet Governance Forum, NIGF

All is now set for the hosting of the 2024 edition of the Nigerian Internet Governance Forum, NIGF, Conference.

The event tagged; “Responsible Use Of The Internet, a Panacea for Sustainable Socio-economic Development”, is billed to hold between 16th to 17th October, 2024, at the Ministry of Women Affairs Complex, Eastern Bye-Pass, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The event is expected to have in audience government representatives, Digitital and tech experts, advocacy groups, critical stakeholders of internet community, including members of the public and private sectors, they are expected to brainstorm on various issues bordering on internet operations, internet governance, internet administration and current developments in the internet ecosystem. 

Addressing Journalists during the opening ceremony of the 5th edition of the Nigerian School on Internet Governance, NSIG 2024, at the Centre for Information & Telecommunications Engineering,  University of Port Harcourt,  Rivers State, the President of Internet Society, Nigeria Chapter, Engr. Kunle Olorundare, disclosed that the forthcoming event emphasizes on the "Responsible use of the internet".

He disclosed that the event is part of the organisation’s effort to develop Nigerians of diverse backgrounds, ages and sectors including leading the next generation with relevant skills to participate in the local and international internet governance structures, so as to shape the future of the internet landscape for Nigeria’s development.
