ZLP Convention Produces New Exco, Describes N50m Gift, as Fallacy.
The Zenith Labour Party ZLP has conducted their 2025 National Convention and delegates Conference which produced new national officers that will run the affairs of Party over a period of time.
The Convention which took place Thursday, February 6, 2025, in Abuja, after a very peaceful and seamless process, returned Barr. Dan Nwanyanwu unopposed as their National Chairman with other serving members also returned.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the Convention, the ZLP National Chairman, Chief Barr. Dan Nwanyanwu said it is a new dawn for the Party; affirming that the Party's early Convention is to, as usual, set agenda ahead of other Political Parties, to properly position the ZLP and to commence galvanising, mobilization, alignment and realignments for 2027; because according to the dynamics of Nigerian style of politics, it is expected that full politicking for 2027 general election will commence in earnest towards the last quarter of the year 2025.
Barr. Dan Nwanyanwu said that the Zenith Labour Party has done marvelously well so far having produced Local Government Chairmen and councillors; saying that the Party shall explore all possibilities and potentials within its disposal to become more visible, more relevant and above all well positioned to capture more powers during any coming elections, especially come 2027.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected and sworn-in national officers, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu promised that him and the newly sworn-in national officers shall do everything possible not to move the Party to the next level; saying the Zenith Labour Party shall continue to wax from strength to strength henceforth.
On the rumour making the rounds that N50m was shared to all opposition political parties by the presidency, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu described the rumour as fallacy from the pit of hell.
He challenged anybody with verifiable evidence to make such available to the public, emphasizing that Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, is too big a Party to settle for a meagre N50m from the presidency, saying that "what is N50m, ZLP will not accept anything less than N50b in any political arrangement or negotiation from the Presidency if the need arises". Chief Nwanyanwu challenged media hunters, social media crickets and rumour mongers to always endeavour to verify their stories before posting.
Chief Dan Nwanyanwu thanked ZLP members from across the country for turning out enmass and re-electing him as the National Chairman of the Party during the just concluded National delegates Convention, promising not to let them down. END
