INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

IZUNASO CELEBRATES NIGERIAN WOMEN 

Distinguished Senator Osita Izunaso, OFR, member representing the good people of Imo West Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Capital Market and Institutions, has extended special felicitations to Nigerian Women on the occasion of the 2025 International Women's Day.

In a special message the media on the occasion, the Federal law maker, Dist. Sen. Izunaso, says "as the world celebrates International Women's Day, I am very pleased to extend my warmest heartfelt felicitations to Nigerian women and especially to the women of Orlu Zone". Sen Izunaso said, he acknowledges the invaluable contributions of women to the development of our society and the nation at large. 

Sen. Izunaso described Women as special breed of humanity, saying, he recognizes the resilience, strength and unwavering commitment of Nigerian women to various aspects of nation-building, including politics, education, healthcare and entrepreneurship, including their special roles in the family and home front.

Senator Izunaso remarked that, "in celebrating this year's International Women's Day, there is need for continued support and empowerment of women to reach their full potential so as to be able to contribute immensely to the growth and progress of our dear country Nigeria".

Senator Izunaso said, he reaffirms his unflinching commitment for gender balancing, women's rights, and overall empowerment of women in Nigeria. 

The Distinguished Senator added that he believes that gender parity and inclusivity are essential for achieving sustainable development and building a more just, equitable and egalitarian society.

He urged the world to celebrate and appreciate women, to create a more gender-equitable space where women can thrive and succeed in all spheres of endeavour.

Sen. Izunaso wishes the beautiful Women of Orlu Zone, and great Women Nigeria, a Happy International Women's Day. END
