AIG ZONE 7 HOLDS MAIDEN LECTURE
…as AIG Victor Olaiya calls on officers and men of the zone to leverage on emerging technology to carry out a more effective and inclusive policing
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, psc(+) has today the 11th of April, 2025 delivered his Maiden general Lecture to officers and men of the zone, in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, stressing the importance of commitment to duty, Discipline and Accountability.
While addressing officers, the AIG reiterated the Force’s commitment to upholding ethical standards, fostering public trust and ensuring effective and inclusive service delivery.
He urged personnel to discharge their duties with dedication, respect for human rights and adherence to the rule of law.
The lecture was focused on discipline, public order and safety, reorientation towards preventive policing, empathy, commitment to duties and conformity with the law among others.
The lecture further encompasses topics surrounding care and custody of suspects, use of fire arm, duties of a police investigator, professional and ethical conduct of officers and men, transparency, collaboration with other security agencies, community partnerships and also enjoined officers and men of the zone to leverage on emerging technologies to carry out a more effective and inclusive policing to measure up with the current crime trends of the society.
